The People Behind the Progress

Dr. Robert Fomer
Founder & Executive Director
Transformational Leadership Forum | Youth With a Future
In 2011, Dr. Robert Fomer founded the Transformational Leadership Forum (TLF) to train leaders serving in schools, churches, and urban communities. He saw a dangerous decline in character-based leadership across sectors — from government to business to the church. TLF answered that crisis by equipping leaders with purpose, ethics, and heart.
But Dr. Fomer also saw something else: the urgent need to begin youth leadership training earlier — before poor choices take root, and while potential is still forming. In 2013, he launched Youth With a Future, a program designed to raise up young leaders in at-risk communities through mentorship, core values, and real-world skill-building.
With a Doctorate in Global Transformational Leadership, Dr. Fomer has spent 25+ years developing leaders at every level. Today, his legacy continues to grow through the youth empowered by his vision.
“When we teach youth to lead with character, we don’t just change their future — we change the future of our communities.”

Flor Estela Rodriguez
Program Workshop Facilitator
Flor brings a rich background in both business and education to the Youth With a Future leadership team. She has served as a bilingual teacher for over 15 years — 8 years with the Denver Public Schools District and 7 years with the Cherry Creek School District — while continuing to work closely with inner-city students through mentorship and community programs. Her commitment to urban youth goes beyond the classroom, reflecting a lifelong dedication to equity and opportunity.
Flor holds a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Colorado in Boulder and is currently pursuing her Doctorate (EdD) in Organizational Leadership through Grand Canyon University in Arizona. Her leadership in youth empowerment programs helps shape confident, values-driven young leaders who are equipped to overcome challenges and create lasting change in their communities.
“When students feel seen, they begin to see themselves as leaders.”

Brianna Cherry
Program Workshop Facilitator
Brianna has worked with youth in the classroom and in personal development programs for over 10 years and continues to pursue her passion for helping young people recognize their potential to be leaders — in their homes, schools, and communities. Her approach is rooted in both heart and strategy, empowering youth to lead with confidence and purpose.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Social Sciences and Organizational Leadership from Colorado State University. Currently, she serves as a program specialist for Denver Public Schools, where she manages teams that operate quality before-and-after school programs for ECE through 8th grade students. Brianna brings her hands-on expertise directly into our teen leadership development sessions, creating safe, structured environments where youth thrive.
“Leadership isn’t just a skill — it’s a mindset. Every youth deserves to build theirs.”

Larry Floyd
Photographer & Visual Storyteller
With over 25 years of experience as a freelance photographer and business owner, Larry Floyd has built a remarkable career capturing everything from world leaders to everyday milestones. His lens has chronicled U.S. Presidents, mayors, corporate executives, and historic events — including The Summit of the Eight World Leaders, Pope John Paul III’s visit to The World Youth Conference in Denver, and multiple U.S. Presidential campaigns and visits to Colorado.
Today, Larry lends his extraordinary talent to a mission close to his heart: helping urban youth be seen, valued, and celebrated. As the official photographer for Youth With a Future, he documents transformation in action, capturing the strength, growth, and spirit of our young leaders.
“These kids are already leaders. I just help the world see it.”

Devyn Humphrey
Engagement Manager
Devyn Humphrey brings a powerful blend of legal expertise, equity-centered leadership, and community engagement to her role at Youth With a Future. Her career has centered around designing systems that elevate people, especially youth, in underserved communities.
Before joining YWAF, Devyn was a Managing Partner at a boutique executive search firm, where she led operations and specialized in recruiting senior leaders for social impact-focused organizations. Her work included leading equitable and inclusive C-suite searches with a strong focus on identifying diverse, values-driven talent.
She began her career in law, representing school boards, mediating special education disputes, and litigating real estate matters in New York and New Jersey. Driven to work more directly with families and communities, she transitioned into education, joining a charter school network as Senior Director of External Affairs. There, she led community engagement efforts and scaled strategies to support the organization’s rapid growth.
Devyn later continued her public service in leadership roles at the New York City Department of Education and the New York City Housing Authority, always advocating for more inclusive, youth-centered systems.
She holds a BA from Howard University and a JD from Cornell Law School. At YWAF, Devyn is instrumental in building partnerships and awareness that power our youth empowerment programs and expand access to youth leadership training for urban communities.
“Strong youth leadership starts with strong community support — I help build that bridge.”

Throughout her career, she managed over $80 million in annual federal grant expenditures with minimal audit findings, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to fiscal integrity and public trust. She also oversaw agency budgets totaling $150 million and more than 150 contracts across various sectors, including economic development, workforce development, contract compliance, budget and management, and affordable housing.
Her expertise brings strategic strength to Youth With a Future, helping to ensure that our teen leadership initiatives are not only mission-driven but financially sustainable. Chiquita’s work behind the scenes allows our team to scale impact and steward resources.
She remains active in her community through church leadership and nonprofit board service — a reflection of her lifelong dedication to service and systems that uplift people.
“Behind every successful program is a strategic mind making sure every dollar counts. I’m proud to support that mission for our youth.”
